PROBLEM: BLOWN FUSE
SOLUTION
1. Wrong size pump
 
a.
Seio controller is designed to power up only 2 SEIO  1100, 1500 and 2600 water pumps
 
b.
If other pumps are used warranty is void
 
PROBLEM: EXCESS NOISE
SOLUTION
1. Wrong size pump
 
a.
Seio controller is designed to power up only 2 SEIO  1100, 1500 and 2600 water pumps
 
b.
If other pumps are used warranty is void
2. Intake is clogged
 
a.
Clean the large intake strainer
 
b.
Clean the intake of the pump
3. Impeller damage
 
a.
If there is any damage to the impeller replace the impeller and shaft
 
b.
If shaft shows sign of wear replace
 
c.
The impeller was not assembled properly. Check instructions and verify that all bushing and washers are in the correct position
4. Clean the impeller
a

Disconnect the pump form the power supply prior to removing the pump from the water.

Remove 120° directional discharge or large intake filter strainer.
c.
Remove the impeller well cover.
d.
Once the impeller well cover is removed, slide both the impeller and shaft out of the main body of the pump and clean well. Do not use any soap detergents during cleaning.
e.
After the impeller and shaft are cleaned, use a small brush to clean inside of the motor housing.
f.
Reassemble above parts and pump is again ready to use. Confirm that all the washer and bushing a reassembled properly.  Failure to do so will cause permanent damage to the pump.
g.
When a high amount of calcium is used and the impeller does not rotate on the shaft. Soak the impeller and shaft in 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. Let soak 30 minutes or the impeller rotates easily on the shaft
PROBLEM: RIO 600/800 IS NOT MAKING BUBBLES FOR SKIMMER
SOLUTION
1. Replacement pump is the not the right model
 
a
Most HOB skimmer that use Rio pumps use model PT600 (08243) or PT800 (08430)
 
b.
If the regular model pumps where purchased a retro fit kit can be purchased to convert the pump to a PT model. Part number 04401 click here for ordering information
2. Air intake tube is clogged
 
a.
2’ piece of airline tubing and 1 cup of warm water
 
b.
Connect the airline tubing to the intake of the venturi  place the other side in the warm water allow the venturi to suck the warm water through the intake
3. The intake holes in the impeller well cover and or intake elbows are clogged
 
a.
use a paper clip to remove calcium deposit that are clogging the hole
 
b.
Soak the impeller and shaft in 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. Let soak 30 minutes as this will make it easier to clear holes
